1. About This Service

FuneralCompare (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides a price comparison platform for UK funeral services. We aggregate CMA Standardised Price List data published by funeral directors and present it in a searchable, comparable format.

By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

2. Pricing Information

Important disclaimer about pricing data:

  • All pricing information displayed on FuneralCompare is sourced from funeral directors' published CMA Standardised Price Lists, which they are legally required to publish under the CMA Funerals Market Investigation Order 2021.
  • Prices are provided for comparison purposes only and may not reflect the final cost of a funeral, which can vary based on individual circumstances, additional services, and third-party fees.
  • You must verify all prices directly with the funeral director before making any arrangements.
  • We make reasonable efforts to keep pricing information accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that all prices are current at the time of viewing.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Consumer Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.

3.2 Provider Accounts

  • By registering as a provider, you confirm you are authorised to represent the funeral director business.
  • You agree to keep pricing information accurate and up to date.
  • You agree to respond to consumer enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Misrepresentation or submission of false pricing may result in account suspension.

4. Reviews and Content

  • Reviews must be genuine and based on your personal experience.
  • You agree not to submit fake, misleading, or defamatory reviews.
  • We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these terms.
  • Reviews are the opinions of individual users and do not represent the views of FuneralCompare.

5. Enquiries and Leads

  • Submitting an enquiry through our platform shares your contact details with the selected funeral director(s).
  • Funeral directors may use your details to contact you regarding funeral arrangements.
  • We are not a party to any agreement between you and a funeral director.
  • All arrangements, contracts, and payments are between you and the funeral director directly.

6. Intellectual Property

  • The FuneralCompare name, logo, and website design are our intellectual property.
  • CMA Standardised Price List data is published by funeral directors in compliance with regulatory requirements and is reproduced for comparison purposes.
  • You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute our content without permission.

7. Limitation of Liability

  • FuneralCompare provides the platform “as is” and “as available.”
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the website.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

  • Premium subscription fees are processed securely through Stripe.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard.
  • Refunds are provided at our discretion in accordance with consumer law.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription fees with 30 days' notice.

9. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
  • Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
